This bitch is a 15 month old juvenile. Notice the smooth, effortless action of the suspended trot, with a level topline and very little vertical motion of the body. She looks like she is not even trying. This is the mark of balance and a strong loin that holds a horizontal topline and through which the strong rear can exercise maximum drive.
Note how far she reaches under herself with the rear legs, so that the foot is on the ground for the greatest length of the stride. (Drive only occurs where the rubber meets the road!) Her coat is immature, which is evident in the lack of rear skirts.
Here is what an English Lhasa Judge had to say about the video clip:
Just adore that head,
everything you want to see in a Lhasa Apso bitch, ultra typey but
pretty and regal also. Coat texture looks good, particularly in
the still photo, and she appears to be a wonderful size.
As
to the movement she looks as if she could go all day, absolutely
effortless, equal reach and drive with the paws almost converging
underneath her and moving neither too wide nor too close going away and
as far as one can see coming to although she never did come straight at
you. She shows more pad perhaps, and emphasised by the slow
motion, than we would see here and find acceptable. Such
rear drive would often end in a Shih Tzu flick as
very, very few dogs would have the shoulders to absorb the power of the
rear which she obviously does as seen from the fluidity of the movement
and the perfectly held topline.
